Varilume Powerline Addressable Relay with Dimming (PLC Module)

Member of the Varilume® Inc. building automation series, the PLC Module is a powerline receiving device that provides remote control of lighting systems. The module features a small and compact design that allows to be installed inside metal electrical boxes or directly in the fixture.

The PLC Module is designed to be used in conjunction with one or more transceivers (e.g., ACWall Switch). With these devices, complex automated environments can be built. The command signals are transmitted through the same electrical wires that bring power to the device, eliminating the need to install new dedicated wiring. As a result, installation costs are greatly reduced and the automated network can be easily modified or expanded.

Cautions and Notes

• The PLC Module must be installed inside fixtures or metal electrical boxes with proper size.
• Only used for junction boxes where min. 90°C wiring is used.
• Do not install ceiling surface mounted luminaires with incandescent lamp directly under the junction box where the module is installed. Only pendant or wall mounted luminaires may be used.
• These devices are intended for installation in accordance with your local electric code and regulations. It is recommended that a qualified electrician perform this installation.
• Dimming function is intended for use with fluorescent lights only.
• A transmitter is required to communicate with the module and is sold separately.
