Dimsoft Central Software
Dimsoft is the heart of the system. Running on a local PC or accessed from the Internet, an authorized user can control lighting, heating and cooling in their individual space, be it an office or cubicle in addition to global control from the building manager’s office.
- Dimsoft is scalable from a small office environment to a large building complex that spans multiple physical locations.
- Each physical site has its own site server which controls the events and devices in its location. One server in the complex (or on the Internet) also carries the role of the database server.
- Sites are further broken down into areas, locations and devices. Domains may be created to group logically similar devices together to simplify operations.
- Devices may include programmable keypads, lamp relays, streetlight relays, intelligent thermostats, intelligent heating baseboards, power meters and more.
- A powerful graphical interface allows users to describe the various sites, areas, locations, device and domains, and to assign meaningful pictures to represent and control them.
- Events are associated with each device. Using the graphical interface, events are defined, and devices are programmed to respond when relevant events occur.
- Automated schedules may be created to control when events or commands are initiated. Schedules are transmitted to each site server to protect against network failures.
- Security is provided through central authorization of users and assignment of passwords.
